 - Henry the Hero! -

Henry as puppy like all true heroes he is very modest.

Guard Dog

There’s our brave young puppy,

Barking at the gate.

It’s just the children running by,

Because they know they’re late.

They don’t pose any danger,

They really are no threat.

These are the ones who cuddle you

And call you ‘little pet’.

There’s always quite a lot of them,

To and from the school.

Nothing there to bark about –

You’ll have to play this cool.

There’s times to bark, times to not

And  as you grow you’ll learn.

But we thank you, brave young Henry,

For your vigilant concern.

Henry is now a very active 11 year old

Why is Henry a hero?

He's the gentlest of dogs - but he's always been very protective of the house and gardens and the adjacent properties.

His "best" enemy is the black cat next door - who stupidly is also called Henry!  To differentiate we refer to him as Henrycat.

Henry likes everything to be in it's proper place and that includes the small birds who feed in the garden,

so when he sees Henrycat stalking or just watching the birds he knows he's got to go .........

bark! bark!! bark!! and start chasing him out of the garden.
